Nuestro meta es contribuir a un futuro habitable, sostenible y justo en la región. Para ello, nuestro misión es co-crear nuevas formas formales y no formales sostenibilidad programas educativos –así como movilizar los existentes– con todos los miembros de la comunidad, a través de experiencias de aprendizaje significativas, equitativas y participativas.

Nuestro trabajo se centra principalmente en cinco ODS:

ODS 4: Educación de calidad
Garantizar una educación inclusiva, equitativa y de calidad y promover oportunidades de aprendizaje permanente para todos.
ODS 5: Igualdad de género
Lograr la igualdad de género y empoderar a todas las mujeres y niñas
ODS 10: Reducción de las desigualdades
Reducir la desigualdad dentro y entre nuestras comunidades.
ODS 11: Ciudades y comunidades sostenibles
Hacer que nuestras ciudades y asentamientos humanos sean inclusivos, seguros, resilientes y sostenibles.

LOS 17 GOLES | Desarrollo sostenible

“Los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) fueron adoptados por las Naciones Unidas en 2015 como un llamado universal a la acción para poner fin a la pobreza, proteger el planeta y garantizar que para 2030 todas las personas disfruten de paz y prosperidad.

Los 17 ODS están integrados: reconocen que la acción en un área afectará los resultados en otras, y que el desarrollo debe equilibrar la sostenibilidad social, económica y ambiental.

Los países se han comprometido a priorizar el progreso de aquellos que están más rezagados.

La creatividad, el conocimiento, la tecnología y los recursos financieros de toda la sociedad son necesarios para alcanzar los ODS en todos los contextos. Leer más sobre el ODS en el sitio web oficial de la ONU.

A medida que nos acercamos al año 2030, cuando se suponía que se alcanzarían los objetivos, es importante medir el estado actual de cada objetivo.

Enriquez served as the Director for Conexiones, a Migrant Education Student Program, and oversaw the Strategic Partnership of ASU with Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico.

Usama is a practicing Professional Engineer and works in the Utility Industry. Usama also has over 25 years of college teaching experience and has several published engineering technical papers.

Evelyn Brumfield

Evelyn is the Youth Climate Action Coordinator within Tempe’s Office of Sustainability & Resilience. Before coming to Tempe, Evelyn was a sustainability educator in the nonprofit sector. In her current work, she supports and uplifts youth voices: she most often works with students in Tempe high schools and the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Commission. Additionally, she is also working to increase capacity within school gardens.
